Day 1-Depart florence-williamsburg

A morning departure has you heading into the historic colonial triangle of Williamsburg, VA. Today you will visit Jamestown Settlement near the site of the original colony, Jamestown Settlement tells the story of 17th Century Virginia...from the arrival of English colonists in Jamestown in 1607 to the cultural encounters and events that planted the seeds of a new nation. The world of Jamestown, Americas first permanent English colony, comes to life through film, gallery exhibits and outdoor living history. Climb aboard replicas of 3 ships that sailed from England to Virginia in 1607 and explore life sized recreations of the colonists' fort and a Powhatan village. In the outdoor areas, costumed historical interpreters describe and demonstrate daily life in early 17th century Jamestown. After your visit, continue to Williamsburg where you will check into your hotel before dinner.

Day 2-Williamsburg

After breakfast, depart for Colonial Williamsburg where you will spend the day in the restored area. A one day ticket will give you a taste of the Colonial Williamsburg experience. Start your visit of the revolutionary city at the visitors center with a film, Williamsburg: Story of a Patriot for an orientation of the town. You'll be able to tour the Governors Palace, Capital, and Raleigh Tavern and learn of the debates that raged in years leading to independence. Visit a trade shop or historic house and discover something about the everyday life of Williamsburg 18th century residents. Choose from any of the exhibitions sites open during your visit and take part in scheduled programs. There will be plenty of time to enjoy lunch on your own in one of the taverns or other eateries, and visit the shops before returning to your hotel for dinner. Tonight enjoy a delicious smorgasbord dinner at Captain George's seafood restaurant then return to Colonial Williamsburg. Meet your guide for a Haunted Williamsburg tour, the only ghost tour that goes inside the historic buildings! From authentic 18th century colonial ghost stories to creepy modern day encounters, costume story tellers share unnerving tales on this 1 hr. candle lit walking ghost tour beginning at the market house.

The story of Americas evolution is told through films and exhibits inside the museum building and outdoor living history at a recreated continental army encampment and revolution era farm. Lunch is on your own in the 1781 café before continuing on to nearby Hampton, VA. This afternoon step aboard the Hampton Queen for a sightseeing cruise that covers over 20 points of interest and over 400 years of history from the founding of Jamestown in 1607 to current Norfolk Navel Base.
