Day 1-arrive Ocean City, Maryland

Depart for Ocean City, MD - a resort town on a 10-mile barrier island bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and a chain of coastal bays and the mainland to the west. Ocean City features beautiful beaches from the Inlet to the Delaware State Line. Upon arrival you will check into your hotel and take time to relax or enjoy Ocean City’s beautiful beach. This evening you will enjoy a delicious dinner at one of Ocean City’s fine restaurants.

Day 2-Ocean City

Enjoy breakfast, then meet your guide for a tour of Assateague Island where you will see many ponies wandering through the pine forest, salt marshes, and beaches. Assateague is also a prime habitat for thousands of waterfowl and birds. Legend has it that the ponies arrived on Assateague Island when a Spanish galleon cargo ship with horses sank off the coast and the horses swam to shore. End your tour at Ocean City’s Boardwalk where you can enjoy lunch on your own. This afternoon you will enjoy a nature cruise on the Sinapuxent Bay. The cruise offers a balance of relaxation, natural history, and outdoor adventure. You will see wild ponies from a different perspective as you are taken to Assateague Island. Later, spend time at Ocean Downs Casino for the opportunity to try your luck at over 850 slots, 18 tables with 9 different games from which to choose. Dinner is on your own this evening.

Day 3-Ocean City-Lewes, De

After breakfast, depart for Lewes, DE, which is situated where the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean meet at Cape Henlopen, for a self-guided tour and wine tasting at the Nassau Valley Winery, Delaware’s first and only award winning winery. Founded in 1987, the vineyards are comprised of Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvigon, Cabernet Frank and Merlot. After the visit, continue to nearby Rehoboth Beach where you will have free time at the Boardwalk and Avenue for lunch on your own and shopping in this quaint seashore resort town. Return to Ocean city to relax and freshen up before departing for dinner and an evening of entertainment.

Day 4-Ocean City-Cape May, NJ

Early breakfast this morning, then depart for the terminal of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. Your motorcoach will board the ferry for the 17 mile ride across the Delaware Bay. Arriving in Cape May, NJ, you will continue to the downtown area of this beautiful Victorian town and oldest seashore resort in the country. Enjoy exploring the shops of Washington Street Mall and even visit the nearby Congress Hall Hotel which was built in the 1800s and accommodated four presidents and was the Summer White House for Benjamin Harrison. While here, you may want to hop aboard a local trolley for a tour (for a fee) or stroll along the beautiful beach. An early dinner will be arranged for the group before reboarding the ferry for your return trip to the hotel.
